Description
Warranties are not written to protect the consumer or user of a product, but to protect the manufacturer (with limited protection for the consumer or purchaser). This is true for roofing, automobiles, electronics, and other household products. Few roofs are installed without a warranty. However, how many times do we actually read a warranty in its entirety? And if we do, how many of us understood it? Owners or clients will demand that they receive a warranty for their newly installed roof. They believe that the warranty protects them against failure. I, along with numerous industry experts, can tell you that the 8-1/2-x-14-in. paper that is issued by a manufacturer will not keep water out of the building.
